Hi, I’m Iman, the founder of Veilful. I’m 24 years old, originally from Germany, and a little over a year ago I made England my new home. Starting fresh in a new country brought a lot of change, but one thing that never changed was my love for modest, feminine dressing and the sense of identity it gives me.
The dream of Veilful actually started about three years ago. I remember sitting on our balcony on a warm summer night with my brother, talking about starting a modest fashion brand. At the time we were thinking about abayas, brainstorming names and ideas with so much excitement. But I paused that dream, because I asked myself ‘who would buy from me? What could I offer that wasn’t already out there?’
Three years later, married and living in a new country, that dream quietly came back to life. This time with a clearer vision, a different direction and my amazing husband by my side every single step of the way. His support made it possible for me to take that leap and turn Veilful into something real.
Veilful was born from my own struggle to find modest pieces that felt truly feminine and elegant. The modest fashion market is growing every day and there are so many beautiful brands emerging, and yet I felt something was still missing. A certain softness. A certain intention. That is exactly what Veilful is here to offer.
We started very small and we are growing, in sha Allah, one order at a time. Every person who has trusted us from the very beginning, every person following along this journey — I am genuinely grateful for each and every one of you. You are the reason Veilful exists.
